Walking on eggshell without cracking them seems like an easier task than writing this blog avoiding getting on the wrong side of a lot of readers or listeners on or Podcast ( L6P Radio on Spotify). So, let me brace myself and dive in accepting all the consequences. Over the years I have observed black women around the world go through the transition of hairstyles from wearing it natural and plated to perming and currently wearing weave on and wigs. Beauty they say is in the eye of the beholder and I do not want or would like to convince anyone to change how they have chosen to wear their hair. My main concern is the ‘why’ and how we have found ourselves at this place where we have the associated acceptable beauty of the black woman to the European type of hairstyle and what do black men think about it?
In the quest of writing this, I would like to say that I have wife and daughter also partake in the hair ritual of human hair purchases and I have a good understanding of the how much they cost. None the less, the question still needs to be asked if black men like them wearing Human Hair extensions or prefer them natural.
In most cases, when done properly. weave on could enhance a woman’s beauty and in most times get a few heads to turn in admiration. On the other hand, I have seen some hairpiece make the wearer look like a character from a science fiction movie. This makes me chagrin, filled with embarrassment.
